Where modern science meets ancient wisdom. And nature is the main amenity.

Science is confirming what people have intuitively understood for thousands of years. Some places have an energy that is especially alluring and restorative. And spending time in the great outdoors is good for us, contributing to lower stress levels, reduced inflammation, better short-term memory, stronger immune function, and increased mental clarity, to name just a few of the measurable and well-documented benefits.

We are committed to preserving the serenity and natural beauty of such powerful places, and we take our stewardship of them very seriously. The primacy of nature — the single most important amenity at any River & Range destination — impacts all of our choices related to site-planning, building materials, and operations, with the aim of making our footprint as light as possible. In fact, conservation is a central part of our business plan, with at least 90% of the land-area associated with our project sites slated for permanent protection under conservation easements.

Some call it flow. Or being in the zone.

We call it peak performance and it’s the energized state that occurs when a person is laser focused and fully immersed in an activity. It’s most reliably achieved when the challenge of the task slightly exceeds a person's limit of comfort.

We curate programs based on proven-but-personalized gateways to peak performance experiences. We are also developing digital content that will keep our guests engaged and inspired until they can visit us again.

Most of our locations will have 45 guest rooms across 15 cabins — three connecting suites in each. And the cabins will be clustered in a central campus to ensure that our footprint is limited to just a few acres out of hundreds, leaving open space to be explored and enjoyed. We also pursue regenerative agriculture wherever possible.

Our approach to peak performance.

The River & Range team includes elite athletes and coaches, psychologists, conservation experts, and executives from the worlds of wellness and hospitality. We have collaborated to provide an irresistible array of gateways to peak performance experiences.

So what’s on the menu of activities? Many are physical, like rock-climbing and mountaineering, whitewater paddling, trail running, mountain biking, cross-country skiing, snowmobiling, or horseback riding. Others are more “zen” like archery, fly-fishing, gardening, painting or sculpture, creative writing, or playing music. Think of it as an amazing summer camp for kids of all ages!

These five principles guide all of our programming:

  • SCIENCE-DRIVEN. Based in research, rigorously tested and measured.

  • TECH-ENABLED. Seamlessly and strategically utilized -- always intentional.

  • PERSONALIZED. Designed for the individual and adapted to readiness.

  • FUNCTIONAL. Focused on real-world movements, skills and techniques.

  • AUTHENTIC. Tailored to the climate and culture of each location.

Our priority locations.

The River & Range team has identified the following locations as our near-term priorities because they: 1) possess stunning natural beauty; 2) are relatively easy to access from population-centers in their respective regions; and 3) offer a variety of outdoor activities that can be enjoyed year-round.
